From the transcript of the Connecticut House of Representatives - May 16, 2007:
"REP. GERAGOSIAN: (25th)
Thank you for your, I thank the gentleman for
his answers. I can't support this Bill as it is right now because we're taking
a situation where the poorest of Connecticut's residents, people that may
necessarily struggle to pay their auto insurance bills are having a significant
increase in their costs.
While we're not looking at alternatives like
not for profit auto insurance, this is a captive market. People do not have a
choice of whether they have to buy auto insurance or not.
I realize it's been a time since an increase,
but it's an increase that many of my constituents simply can't afford, so I
urge the Chamber to reject this. Thank you, Mr. Speaker."
